20 December 2007 - Joint Committee decision on maternity services
The NHS is to develop a single site option for consultant led maternity services in East Sussex based at the Conquest Hospital in Hastings. There will also be a Special Care Baby Unit and inpatient gynaecology services on the same site.
28 November 2007 - Warning from Diabetes UK
Diabetes UK has warned that local people with diabetes could go blind needlessly because they are not attending their local Diabetic Retinal Screening Programme.
19 November 2007 - PEC members appointed
Five local NHS professionals have now been appointed to serve on the Professional Executive Committee (PEC) for East Sussex Downs and Weald PCT, following the appointment earlier this year of Dr. Simon Eyre as the committees chair.
29 October 2007 - Waits for hospital treatment to reduce
As from today the maximum wait for patients across East Sussex from being referred by their GP for th first stage of hospital treatment, in the majority of cases, will be 18 weeks. Those patients with suspected cancer will continue to be seen and treated much quicker.
18 October 2007 - Annual Health Check announced
The Healthcare Commission has today (18 October) published the results of its annual health check on NHS organisations.
8 October 2007 - New therapy unit opened
A generous £30,000 donation from the Friends of Meadow Lodge has funded the transformation of an under-used sitting room at Meadow Lodge, Lewes, into a multi-therapy unit complete with a new gym, occupational therapy area with new equipment, and an office for the physiotherapists, occupational therapists and their teams.
