Children sing for patients at Irvine Unit carol service

The children of Chantry Primary School Choir summed up the spirit of Christmas for the Mayor's Carol Service at the Irvine Unit, at Bexhill Hospital on Tues 8 December.

Counsellor Mrs Bridget George, Town Mayor of Bexhill says,

"At this time of the year it is important to think of other people and it is very special to see the children so enthusiastically singing for the pleasure of the patients.

The refurbishment of the Irvine Unit, which is an intermediate care unit for older people, is my chosen charitable project this year.  Many thanks to those who donate to it and please be assured that all contributions are gratefully received as they will make such a difference."

The children sang a number of favourite carols including Away in a Manger and Come all Ye Faithful and received a rousing round of applause from appreciative staff and patients. They were then enjoyed mince pies with some of the staff.
