FREE cooking sessions are on offer for older men with little or no experience in the kitchen.
The ‘Cooking for One’ initiative is aimed at men over 50 who perhaps find themselves having to cook for the first time. It provides a taster session followed by a five-week course to help develop basic cookery and healthy eating skills.
A food technology teacher from Rye College will run these sessions at Rye College where participants will be able to practise their new skills in a friendly, fun environment.
The taster session is on Monday 20 July. It will last three hours, including time to enjoy the food prepared. This will be followed in September by the five week course.

‘Cooking for One’ is an initiative from the Health Improvement Team of NHS East Sussex Community Health Services, the provider ‘arm’ of NHS Hastings and Rother & NHS East Sussex Downs and Weald – the two East Sussex primary care trusts.
