An event encouraging men to take care of themselves on the inside and out will take place in Hastings next week.
As part of Men’s Health Week the event, ‘Inside Out’ will give young men aged 16-25 advice and information on how to have a healthy lifestyle whilst having fun at the same time.
The event, on Saturday June 20 will take place at St Mary’s in The Castle from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
It has been organised by Pulse, a multi-agency partnership project with partners including NHS Hastings and Rother and East Sussex County Council.
It brings together a wide range of agencies across Hastings and Rother to improve health amongst young adults.
It helps with a range of issues that young adults are faced with from housing, family support, alcohol and substance misuse, emotional and mental well being, and general risk-taking behaviour.
On the day there will be a whole host of health professionals on hand offering activities and advice on stopping smoking, Chlamydia screening and how to keep emotionally safe.
There will also be the chance for young men to take part in street dancing, kick boxing and take a trip to the salon for a makeover!
There will also be loads of goodies up for grabs and the chance to enter a free prize draw.
Councillor Meg Stroude, Lead Member for Children and Families at East Sussex County Council, said:
“It is so important that all of our young people look after themselves. Events like this show that staying healthy and safe doesn’t have to be boring!”
