On Tuesday 30th June between 9am and 5pm, members of the public will head down to the Priory Meadow shopping centre to receive health promotion advice about diabetes and the feet.
Whether it’s forcing on those oh-so-beautiful shoes that are just a bit too tight or simply neglecting the most basic of maintenance tasks, sometimes feet take a real battering.
As part of the annual Feet for Life month in June, the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists is raising awareness of all aspects of foot care and foot health, with a special focus on the issue of diabetes and foot care.
Adam Cooper-Lloyd from the Podiatry Department NHS East Sussex Community Health Services, says:
“It is essential that diabetics know how to look after and examine their feet to prevent foot problems before they occur, recognise any symptoms early, and to ensure they seek treatment when needed".
“And it’s not just people with diabetes who need to take care of their feet; basic foot maintenance can make life far more comfortable, and help prevent problems from developing further down the line.”
Keep looking after your feet and make sure they take you where you want to go!
