Official opening of new GP surgery in Ringmer

Staff and patients at the new GP surgery in Ringmer have just celebrated the offcial opening day curtesy of the most senior patient Bessie Willard who is 102 years old.

Some 50 guests were present to see Bessie officially cut the red ribbon at the new surgery entrance.

Dr Butti, Executive Partner at the Practice, said,

“We are delighted for patients and staff that the surgery is ready so quickly.  The building is bright, spacious and pleasant.  It has excellent facilities and will meet the needs of the local people for years to come.

Many thanks to Maurice Brocklesby from Carisbrooke Medical Centres and Westridge Construction for getting things done.  The new building meets the latest standards with five consulting rooms for doctors and nurses, a treatment room and conference area".

The surgery at Anchor Fields is the branch surgery of River Lodge Surgery in Lewes.

The new surgery is on the opposite side of the car park from the previous practice building.

Designed by architect David Jenkins, the facility will meet demanding energy efficiency targets and will allow full access for disabled patients.

Working in partnership with NHS East Sussex Downs and Weald, the GPs commissioned the new building from Carisbrooke Medical Centres and builders Westridge Construction Ltd.

The partners would like to extend their thanks to all those who have supported this project throughout.

The land and development costs for Ringmer are around £1M.
