27 July 2010 - Drop-in NHS advice service in Hastings.

A special service to give people information and advice on NHS services is coming to Station Plaza Health Centre (Note for editors) in Hastings.

From Wednesday 4th August, NHS Hastings and Rother’s Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) will run a monthly ‘drop-in’ service for people who would like confidential non-medical advice and support for themselves, a relative or someone they care for.

The sessions will be open from 10am to 12midday on the first Wednesday of each month.

The PALS team provide advice and information about local health services.  They can help people raise concerns about NHS services or give advice on making a complaint as well as help people find local health services such as GPs and dentists.

Julia Mertens, who is the Team Leader of the PALS team, says:

“This new drop in service will allow people to discuss any issues or concerns they have face to face, as well as get support and advice from our PALS Officers.

The main way of contacting the PCT’s PALS Officers is by telephone or via e-mail and so this new service is a great way for us to meet people face to face and help them resolve any issues or get information on the NHS.”

The monthly PALS drop-in service starts on Wednesday 4th August between 10am-12midday in room 129 on the first floor of Station Plaza Health Centre, next door to Hastings Railway Station.

If you would prefer to arrange an appointment to meet on that day or have an issue you would like to discuss over the phone please ring the PALS local rate helpline - tel 0300 1000 891 or e-mail hr-pct.pals@nhs.net
