Fundraising efforts to buy a new bladder scanner for patients at the Lewes Victoria Hospital have been given a big helping hand.
The Rotary Club of Lewes Castle has donated over £1700 from cash raised during the annual Lewes Carnival.
Lucy Scragg, who is the Matron at the Lewes Victoria, says:
"We are really grateful to the Rotarians of Lewes Castle for their donation which will allow us to buy a new scanner.
This will be used in our Outpatients Department to help diagnose and assess a wide variety of urological conditions, including bladder cancer.
A number of hospital staff had a great time on our float at this year’s Lewes Carnival and it is great that such a fun day will also help us to offer an improved service to patients."
Jerry Noble, Chairman of the Carnival Committee at the Rotary Club of Lewes Castle, adds:
"We are delighted to have been able to donate this money to such a worthy cause.
The Lewes Victoria Hospital is dear to the hearts of local people and we wanted to do our bit to help buy an important piece of new equipment."
