NHS Sussex wants to improve the non-urgent Patient Transport Service (PTS).
This is the service offered to help people get to healthcare appointments with community and hospital care providers. It does not include urgent ambulance journeys.
To improve this service NHS Sussex wants to hear from the people who use the current service and who want to have a say on how it should be run in the future.
Patients, the public, clinicians and providers are all being invited to have their say so the new service can be designed to meet the needs of the people who will use and need it.
A number of public meetings have already taken place, and many people’s views have already been recorded – but three additional events have been organised for people to find out more about the plans for the service and to have their say.
One of these events is on:
Thursday, 11 August, 3pm-5pm in the Meeting Room, East Sussex Disability Association, 1 Faraday Close, Eastbourne. BN22 9BH.
Two other events are being held in West Sussex.
Wendy Mahoney, project lead for NHS Sussex, said: “It is important to us the improved service meets the needs of those who use it and we would really appreciate your thoughts on what works, what doesn’t and what is most important to you.”
