As part of a nationwide campaign, the NHS in East Sussex has launched a major recruitment drive to increase the numbers of new health visitors over the next five years to help support children and families.
The coalition Government’s commitment to the importance of families as the bedrock of a strong and stable society is at the heart of the drive to double the number of health visitors across the UK.
Sue Webb, Regional Nurse, NHS South East Coast, said: “Health visitors are multi-skilled men and women, who are qualified nurses or midwives, and who specialise in working with families from all backgrounds to promote health and ensure children are developing as they should.
“There has never been a better time to train or return to be a health visitor. We are offering fully funded career development opportunities for eligible people who have a passion for giving children the best start in life.”
If you are a qualified nurse or midwife and you really enjoy working with families to help children thrive, you can apply for a fully-funded 12 month (or 24 months part time) degree course at one of four universities around the south east coast region. You will be paid while you train too.
